Can you move a ESXi 5.5 Host to vcenter 6.5 with VMs on it where all the VMs are shutdown? Or do I have to move the VMs to another ESXi host, put it in maintenance mode and move it to the new vCenter 6.5? Yes, and no need to shutdown VMs either. VCenter Server is just a management server. So remove host from VC 5.5 and add to VC 6.5. With all VMs running. I would like to upgrade the ESXi 5.5 host after I move it to vcenter 6.5.
When I upgrade I will be moving off all the VMs on the ESXi host 5.5 VMs have to be powered off, and then you can upgrade and restart hosts. Siemens plc software free download. Update Manager is an effecient method of upgrade!
I'm confused! Trying ESXi 5.5 the free one which I installed. It says download the tools to manage the server at x.x.x.x. When I go there, it says here you can download the vSphere Client, but then it says note the traditional client doesn't support new features, and to use the vSphere Web client instead.
